Boxes

My immediate attraction to painting in large scale naturally drew me to the making of murals. However, after constant searches for a legal wall and the experience of commissions' creative limitations, I needed to figure something out. I wanted the freedom to create on my own terms but also wanted to preserve the extraordinarily large scales. The use of cardboard as a material evolved in two to three dimension allowing me to stack individual boxes to create a wall. My paintings are used to create an immersive set design that elevates the experience. The boxes are flattened after the show for the ease of storage and transport.
