SSALM
You know when you make something, time passes then you don't really like it that much?

This was one of those cases. This was the first painting I made upon returning to Brown University for my final semester and it was specifically to submit for the 44th Juried Exhibition held at the Granoff Center. I remember feeling nervous as it was the first time I was really showcasing my practice involving cardboard boxes. However, with some luck, the painting was selected for the exhibition.

The painting is based off the Korean word 'Ssalm' which means 'Life' in English. I recently came across that in Korean if you synergize the word for people it becomes 'Ssalm' (사람 = 삶). In other words, the people make the life reminding myself in gratitude for those around me in support.
