Project Lisbon

If I had to choose one project that changed my life, Project Lisbon would be one of the first that I mention. Lisbon, Portugal was my second stop through the European Painting Tour and this was my first ever visit. In fact, I had no prior connections which aroused a sense of fear but was quickly washed away from this experience.

After a dinner full of solitude, whilst walking the streets of Lisbon I hear music and the sound of laughter and clapping. I was naturally drawn to the scene where a dozen musicians were taking turns in performing originals and covers. The collective was a mix of travelers and locals, wonderers and grounded individuals.

I appreciated their performance until they decided to wrap when which I approached and introduced myself. I pitched my vision of a collaboration between visual and sonic experiences to which they were immediately welcoming. As I only had a few days left in Lisbon I worked quickly to find painting supplies and a plank of wood and promised a return the next day.

To put it plain, I painted for four hours whilst the music of the dozen created an experience for hundreds of tourists. A moment created through creative collaborations.
